Having installed and worked on most of the systems we design, we understand the realities of where and how ductwork can be installed, how things need to be routed in order to get proper performance, what makes the system work most efficiently, and how to achieve a pleasing aesthetic. Our motto is: "Designed for the real world, not just on paper."

We offer HVAC consultation to help clients select the best system for their needs or diagnose issues with existing systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What experience to do you have?
Our owner and primary designer, Catlin Homer, started out as a licensed gas-fitter, and worked to become a sheet metal worker, and air conditioning technician. With more than a decade of hands on experience, and having designed more than 500 HVAC systems to date, he is full of helpful advice that he loves to share.
  • What sets you apart from all the other HVAC design companies?
In a nutshell, our experience in the real world. There is no requirement for HVAC designers to have ever been on a construction site or installed any piece of HVAC equipment before. As such, there are many designers(some good, some not as good) that create unrealistic designs or do not factor in the many components and elements that effect how well an HVAC system will function. Having spend years visiting projects to troubleshoot and fix such issues after they had already been installed, we strive to design systems that can be installed in the real world, and not just on paper.
  • Where do you provide services to?
We design HVAC systems and provide the required documentation primarily across the entirety of Ontario. However we do also do projects on the east coast and other provinces as well.
  • What documentation do you provide?
We provide all the documentation that you might need in order to get a building/occupancy permit, within the scope of HVAC. For most municipalities, this includes: - Heat Loss and Gain Calculation Report - System Design Layout and equipment specification - Ventilation Summary form - Energy Efficiency Design Summary (EEDS form) - Schedule 1 designer form We tailor our packages to the requirements of your building department or your needs. For example, your building department may not require a duct design, but you would like one so that you can use it to get prices from HVAC contractors. We are happy to provide whatever combination of documentation you require.
